Timeline
NHS Lanarkshire has undertaken a number of reviews and explored a number of options over the years.
This process to explore options for a refurbishment or replacement was formalised with the approval of an Initial Agreement in 2017. This was followed in 2023 with the approval of the Outline Business Case (OBC) for the hospital. The next key milestone for business case approval is the submission of the Full Business Case (FBC), followed by the construction of the hospital ahead of the planned opening in 2031.
