New University Hospital Monklands
A new state-of-the-art hospital for Lanarkshire to help deliver the best possible care to patients.
NHS Lanarkshire has an exciting and positive vision for the brand-new University Hospital Monklands and the wider community it serves. The proposal involves a major investment by relocating and rebuilding the hospital at a new site, Wester Moffat, east of Airdrie. The new hospital will support the clinical model (how we best treat patients) that’s necessary to achieve NHS Lanarkshire’s healthcare strategy; Our Health Together.
Scotland’s first net zero carbon hospital
With the aim of becoming NHS Scotland’s pathfinder for the Net Zero Carbon Standard for Public Sector Buildings, the project holds substantial aspirations for achieving a carbon-neutral status.
Digital innovation to enhance patient care
With the latest digital technology and real-time information, the new hospital is committed to enabling improved patient care and safety by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the patient experience.
People Focused Placemaking
The extensive engagement and collaboration between the public, patients, carers and staff to plan the new hospital has helped us to choose a fantastic location and transformed our forward-looking clinical model to reshape how we deliver healthcare across the county. It’s an exciting time for us all.
Delivering high-quality healthcare education and career opportunities
NHS Lanarkshire is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities, cutting-edge education and training programmes, and personalised social care, all with a focus on improving the health and well-being of patients and staff.
