MRP Community Benefits

MRP Community Benefits Engagement Lead
What we’ve done
MRP delivered two MRP Career Roadshows in October, in St Ambrose and Carluke High Schools. Members of the project team, design team and contractor team attended and gave information about routes into their respective professions. We hope we inspired and informed our young people about the wealth of careers and roles in construction and healthcare.
What we’ve got planned
A programme of Career Roadshows is in development for next year and details will be shared on the MRP social media channels as soon as we have confirmed dates and venues. Remember, if you have high school-age family members to let them know about all the career opportunities the new hospital will bring and point them to our social media channels below for further details.
MRP Events
Senior Project Manager
Scottish Futures Trust
Members of the project and design teams recently attended an event hosted by the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT). The SFT are running a series of workshops linked to the Net Zero Public Sector Building Standards. Our design team colleagues delivered a presentation demonstrating how the new hospital will not only provide a place for care and treatment but will also be a catalyst for change beyond the site boundary, supporting regeneration and wealth building in the local community.
The Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM) Conference
Our lead advisor, Currie & Brown, recently attended the IHEEM conference to talk about embracing digital technologies to optimise patient care. The IHEEM conference is the largest of its kind dedicated to the healthcare estates sector. The team used their time at the conference to promote the MRP as a case study for illustrating where the latest digital technology has been used in the new hospital’s design.
MRP Procurement
Bronwyn Bainbridge
MRP Procurement Manager
What we’ve done
The MRP recently held a live online event for all companies who had registered an interest in providing professional services to the project in terms of overseeing the quality of the manufacture and build. Members of the MRP, lead advisor and contractor teams gave a presentation on NHS Lanarkshire’s procurement of an NEC4 Supervisor with clerk of works duties, in preparation for the formal start of procurement. This event was well attended and we look forward to bringing a new member of the team on board to provide quality assurance through the construction phases of the project.
MRP Service Redesign
Donna McHenry
Service Redesign Lead
What we’ve done
During October, the University Hospital Monklands Critical Care Team presented to the project’s Clinical Advisory Group, setting out their progress towards transitioning to the new clinical model for critical care. Actions taken so far include rotating staff between clinical areas on the existing site to build familiarity and team working, and aligning the paperwork and data recording to support a consistent approach. This transition planning will enable a smooth journey to the new building and ensure staff will be familiar with new ways of working in advance of the move.
What we’ve got planned
Clinical teams will continue to develop their transition plans in readiness for a move to a new building and present to future Clinical Advisory Groups on a similar basis
