Snapshot Report
March 2024
MRP Digital Twin
Maureen McGinn
MRP Digital Lead
What we’ve done
Initial meetings with advisors have taken place to develop a Digital Twin Strategy for the project. A Digital Twin is a 4D virtual model of the physical hospital building which allows real-time monitoring of building performance and asset management.
What we’ve got planned
The Digital Twin workstream will meet on a monthly basis with input from a wide group of stakeholders to define the requirements for the Digital Twin. The workstream will also begin to explore the ‘art of the possible’ with companies who provide Digital Twin technology.
MRP Wayfinding
Donna McHenry
MRP Redesign Lead
What we’ve done
An initial meeting has taken place to develop a wayfinding strategy for the new hospital. Wayfinding is an important part of the design development process as it will enable staff, patients and visitors to find their way around the hospital easily. This workstream will explore the cutting edge technology available for wayfinding in order to deliver smart solutions.
What we’ve got planned
We are working with project partners who have expertise in the field of wayfinding to finalise a strategy which provides simple wayfinding tools to help our patients, staff and visitors to find their way around faster and with less stress.
MRP 1:50s
Fiona Cowan
MRP Clinical Lead
What we’ve done
As part of our design development, the project team are meeting with individual department stakeholders to give them the opportunity to review and feedback on the rooms within their department. We are making good progress with the review process and both Mortuary and Spiritual Care have now signed off on their 1:50 departmental reviews for this stage.
What we’ve got planned
The remainder of the 1:50 stakeholder department reviews are scheduled where we will continue to collaborate with our stakeholders to agree space planning and equipping requirements throughout each department.

Lesley Aitken

What we’ve done
MRP have recently attended a careers event in Caldervale High School and a Meet the Buyer Event in Airdrie Football Stadium, in partnership with our construction partner- Laing O`Rourke and lead advisor team.
What we’ve got planned
We will attend the NextGen event in the coming weeks as well as continuing to work with our stakeholders to develop community benefits for the Full Business Case. Work also continues to develop a 2024 summer school and we will detail this in future snapshot reports.
