Snapshot Report June 2025
MRP Community Benefits
Lesley Aitken
MRP Community Benefits Engagement Lead
What we’ve done
Benefits are developed and implemented through the MRP team and construction partner Laing O’Rourke. Work continued with Laing O’Rourke to refine the Community Benefits Implementation Plan and align it to the project stages. We had our first work experience opportunity and are planning more while looking at ways to link the MRP with local colleges and universities.
What we’ve planned
We’re finalising plans for our annual Summer School for senior school pupils. Continuing to work with the construction partner on the benefits to be implemented, initially during the current preparatory site works and then through the construction phases. Collaboration with Laing O’Rourke and the project’s communications group to develop benefits activities that may require specific stakeholder communications.
MRP Digital
Maureen McGinn
MRP Digital Lead
What we’ve done
The Digital Hospital Delivery Group continues to meet monthly and the Digital Strategy is being reviewed and approved. Work has concluded with NHS Lanarkshire Digital Service colleagues and our health planners to develop digital planning and resource models for the new hospital’s workforce. There are ongoing workshops on the “digital twin” – a virtual model of the physical hospital building, to develop requirements, roles and responsibilities and to continue with stakeholder engagement.
What we’ve planned
Digital twin plans are to be finalised, a digital requirements shortlist is to be agreed and completed, and there will be continued collaboration with NHS Lanarkshire Digital colleagues.
MRP Workforce
Julia Kis
MRP Workforce Project Manager
What we’ve done
Following successful work involving a panel of senior leaders and a number of developmental sessions, we’re engaging with professional leads across services and departments to refine the workforce figures in line with the upcoming Full Business Case submission.
What we’ve planned
Updates to the workforce plan along with further activity moving us closer to finalisation of the workforce figures and associated revenue requirements. We’re also aiming to progress engagement and planning with Facilities Management colleagues.
MRP Infection Prevention and Control
Fiona Cowan
MRP Clinical Lead
What we’ve done
We’ve finished design workshops (1:50 scale) for wards and departments and a HAI- SCRIBE (Healthcare Associated Infection Systems for Controlling Risk in the Built Environment) report was carried out for the site preparatory works. We’ve also progressed discussions and assessments relating to the plans for isolation rooms and a High Consequence Infectious Diseases Suite in the new hospital.
What we’ve got planned
Progress with tracking the actions from our HAI-SCRIBE Stage 2 workshop and planning the ventilation requirements for isolation rooms. We’ll also collate and cross-check information to be submitted to the ongoing Key Stage Assurance Review, a process involving the project team and national body NHS Scotland Assure.
